History

Tracing your roots can be an enlightening experience. Business-wise, it just makes sense for an organization to examine its evolutionary path. Our early beginnings hark back to 1971 when we were founded as a screen-printed label manufacturer in East Boston. Today, many years later, following several moves, multiple ownerships, and thousands upon thousands of product applications, we are firmly settled as an industry leader in our ISO certified facility located in Wareham, MA, gateway to beautiful Cape Cod.
We have grown up from that small screen-printed label company to become a full service supplier of custom designed,
manufactured-to-order membrane switches, graphic overlays and flexographic labels.
Our superbly maintained plant is enhanced by state-of-the-art production and manufacturing equipment to serve our extensive customer base, which includes some of the world's largest and most successful corporations.
We value our rich history and the core values, which have propelled us to this desirable spot. We have preserved original traits that have allowed us to
succeed in this fierce industrial environment - quality, integrity, the most intelligent product for your dollar, and meaningful and lasting partnerships with our great customers.
In Spring 2007, four individuals teamed up to acquire Design-Mark from The Bergquist Company. Each has contributed useful talents. John Winzeler, our new President, had been the Division's Operations Manager for the past three years; Bill Salmons, our CFO, had been the investment banker hired to negotiate the acquisition; Spencer Purinton, as President of our leading manufacturer's rep firm, had been responsible for a majority of Design Mark's sales; and Aniel Lugo who brings over 20 years of experience running a label and graphic overlay manufacturer in Puerto Rico.
It's clear that more often than not, where you've been determines where you're going. At Design-Mark, we build on that principle each and every day to bring our valued customers the most extraordinary service possible.
